Asia Dog

Craving a little bit of summer again? In the mood for a hot dog? Asia Dog is the place you NEED to go! Asia Dog is a, little, petite shop with seating for about 4. But this intimate setting bursts with flavor. Located on 66 Kenmare between Mott and Mulberry this restaurant provides great service with a smile. This concept is one that is not replicated anywhere in the city. It’s a one of a kind place, and one every tourist or New Yorker needs to experience at least once. Along with the fact that they offer chicken and vegetarian dogs (which are extremely hard to find) the flavors they mix the hot dogs with are unfathomly good. I ordered the Mel + Steve with a chicken hot dog (on the suggestion of the hot dog maven behind the counter) which is Asian Sesame Slaw, Scallions and Sesame seeds on a regular bun. I was pleasantly surprised.

pretty colors

The colors on this dog were absolutely gorgeous. It was almost too pretty to eat. It was fun to eat outside on the stoop right next to the restaurant and watch people watch me bite into this colorful experience.

The sesame slaw was purple cabbage with sesame and scallions. The flavors weren’t too overwhelming, everything blended together and complimented each other perfectly. The cabbage was refreshing and added a nice crunch to the meatiness of the hot dog. You can’t go wrong with the scallions. Who doesn’t like a little bit of onion on their dog?!

Other than having to pay $4.50 for a single hot dog. I suggest you hurry up and get your dog from this amazing spot!

You can find them POPPING UP this week October 3rd – October 9th at Madison Square Eats from 11am to 9pm! It’s located in Worth Square on 25th St. btwn Broadway and 5th Ave. Drop by and have a dog!
